The Henderson Business and Professional Women's Club welcome Floyd Johnson as its guest speaker at their April 16th meeting. Mr. Johnson is the new Executive Director of the North Central Boys and Girls Clubs of North Carolina. Mr. Johnson shared his history with Boys and Girls Clubs of American and brought the group up to date on activities of the North Central North Carolina clubs. North Central serves Franklin, Granville, and Vance Counties. The Franklin County club is operating out of Louisburg, Vance County acquired the former Clark Street Elementary School as its club site and is continuing to grow. Granville County has been housed by Mary Potter Middle School in Oxford, but recently received a donation of a very large facility from Santa Fe Tobacco company and is in the process of planning for optimal use of the structure to serve Granville County members. The clubs provide programs in character and leadership , education and career development, health and life skills, the arts and fitness and recreation. Club members were informed of ways individuals could assist with the clubs through fund raising, volunteerism, program development or donations.
