The Henderson Business and Professional Women's Club held its August meeting in the Maria Parham Mental Center classroom on August 20 at 6:30 p.m. Following an invocation by Dianne White and an excellent buffet dinner, the club heard a presentation by guest speaker Suzanne Keil, VGCC Coordinator of Grants and Research. Keil led the group through the process of purchasing a new computer. Individual options and accessibility needs were identified and components selected based upon price and suitability. After computer selection, there was a discussion and demonstration of Google.docs use and interaction, including surveys and document sharing.
A business session followed the presentation. A State Board meeting will be held at the BPW State Headquarters building in Chapel Hill on October 3. There was also a reminder that the next two monthly meetings (September and October) will be held at Triangle North Healthcare Foundation on Garnett Street.
The Henderson BPW holds a dinner meeting every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to guests and new members. For September reservations, contact Val Short at 252-430-8643. The next regular meeting will be September 17. The scheduled speaker is local banker Kim Rogers. She will be present "Protecting Your Identity and Your Money".
